EPID elects officers at January meeting
Eagle Point Irrigation District held their annual business meeting on Jan. 8, electing
officers and making necessary appointments.
Board members J. B. Dimick and Gary Bedell were elected by patrons during a
November ballot. Dimick, a replacement appointment for Cal Lanfear, was first appointed, then
elected to fill a one year term for that same appointment. Bedell was elected to serve another
During the annual meeting, Bedell was elected to serve as president of the organization
for 2013, and stan Deupree will serve another term as vice president. The board appointed
David Ford to continue on as manager/secretary and Becky Santana will be the bookkeeper for
The Board also set meeting times and dates, continuing with last year’s schedule. Those
meetings will again be held on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 4 p. m.
Manager David Ford reported that the canal is running near capacity and the power
generation is meeting expectations. Receipts from the power station offset O & M fees to
patrons. Ford also reported that Willow Lake is currently at 7200 acre-feet, just 1,000 af short of
The District bought a new pickup and has experienced good results with the flail brusher
purchased to go on the excavator. Ford reported that the machine will make quicker work of
brushing along the canals.
The district is in the process of renegotiating the loan they have with South Valley Bank
to avoid a balloon payment at the end of the contract in 2014.
The next regular meeting for the District will be held on February 12 beginning at 4 p. m.
in the District office on Brophy Road.
