Eagle Point Irrigation Canal repairs

The Canal Blow-out occurred on October 2, and the final touches are going on completion of the repair of portion of the main canal near Cobliegh Road.  Nearly 5,000 yards of rock have been replaced and compacted to build the hillside back up to original configuration.

Canal brought back ot original profile.

As can be seen from the photo, the hillside has been contoured to prevent sliding material from entering the canal.

On Thursday, October 20, the crew began installing the liner

The first step is to install a felt under layment , giving the lining strength

The final step is installing the actual liner, smoothing and securing to the bank before water is introduced into the canal.
